Saros release 10.6.25 is available, and a new domain for Saros

Posted on June 29, 2010

Yup, it’s again time for Saros, the open source plug-in that lets you develop your Eclipse projects with your colleagues over the Internet.

The Saros team made another regular release last week, mostly providing bugfixes and internal optimisations, although we did provide a rather nice, new feature for those users with big projects to share…

Sometimes, when you want to share a really big project using Saros, it’s just too damn big for the Java VM. In these cases, you can use our new invitation streaming feature to stream the project to your invitees, which solves the problem of VM memory limitations. Activate the feature on the Advanced preferences (see the figure below).

We’ve also secured ourselves a new domain over at We’re still designing it (it’s a work in progress, so bear with us), but it already has a wealth of information on Saros.

Finally, you might like to know that we also improved our FAQ page a little to include some more technical questions around each feature of Saros, and we will continue to expand this section.
